IMPORTANT: A powerful earthquake has hit Solomon Islands followed by Tsunami.

 

Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo on Monday has formally received the second tranche of Taiwanese Government Funding of SB$9.6 million dollars from Ambassador Roy Wu.

Solomon Islands Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo this week officially opened the new Solomon Islands Ports Authority (SIPA) built Kabui Jetty in capital Honiara.

The Government has launched a pilot project that could have far reaching benefits for the Pacific region, according to the South Pacific Commission (SPC).

The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock says it is important that the Ministry and the Government have information on the food security situation in homes across the country.

Prime Minister Lilo said that he is deeply troubled by the current low ambition level pledged by developed countries. Solomon Islands Welcome Royal GuestThousands of Solomon Islands nationals took the opportunity to lineup to welcome the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to the Solomon Islands on the latest leg of their tour of Southeast Asia and the South Pacific. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Princess Kate visited Solomon Islands in September of this year as part of the Queen’s diamond jubilee celebrations.
